Electrical Contractor Licensing in Kansas- By City

Kansas does not have statewide licensing laws that apply to Electrical Contractors.  Licensing laws for Electrical Contractors are created at the local-level, by the city or county in which the contractor chooses to work.  Before beginning work on an electrical project, contractors should contact their local city or county clerk office to determine what is required.

*The State of Kansas adheres to National Electric Code for all state-owned buildings.  Additionally, all work performed within the state must adhere to Kansas Fire Prevention Code.

Reciprocal General Contractor Licensing in Kansas

The State of Kansas does not hold reciprocal licensing agreements with other states for General Contractors.  This is because licensing in Kansas is handled at the local-level, by the city, county or town in which the contractor chooses to conduct business.
